One of Beijing’s most famous sites is The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. First completed in the 15th century, it was the residence of emperors from many different dynasties. If you’re an art lover, the 798 Dashanzi district houses modern art galleries, classical art museums and independent shops converted from old factories.

Interesting fact: While many people think of Shanghai as a city of commerce, only 5 Fortune 500 companies are headquartered there, while 41 are based in Beijing. This puts Beijing in the #2 spot internationally, and makes it an ideal place to intern or train in business Chinese.
