Immersion Services

At LTL we are passionate about immersing students in Chinese language and culture. It’s not only the best way to experience China, but also the fastest way to advance your Mandarin skills.

Connection Kit

For first-time visitors to China

Meeting new people is the best way to adjust to living in a foreign country. At Live the Language we believe that forming friendships with local Chinese is one of the highlights of any study experience. Let us help you to overcome the cultural barriers with the Live the Language Connection Kit. Before you arrive we will match you with two people: your personal Student Ambassador and a Language Exchange Partner.

Your Student Ambassador will be someone with matching interests who you can relate to. He/She will take you around Beijing, show you where to get the best bargains and tell you the hot spots to hang out. At the same time it is also a great way to improve your Mandarin skills. Your Language Exchange Partner will help you with your Mandarin and in return you will assist him/her with your native language or English. It is often out of these encounters that long-lasting friendships develop.

Full Immersion Kit

For the quickest progress in Mandarin

For the quickest progress in your Chinese Language skills, Mandarin needs to become “your language.” After signing your language pledge, you will be given your 不要外话! (Don’t speak foreign to me!) t-shirt and we will work to make sure nobody will. Let us help you to discover the joy in speaking Mandarin only and enjoy the amazing new experiences it allows you to have.

Your first buddy will be your local LTL student ambassador. A fellow discoverer of a foreign culture, she/he will not just show you where to get the best noodles around the LTL campus but also go for dinners and drinks together. We will also connect you with a language exchange partner: a Chinese friend who will show you the city and share new experiences with you.

Note: Full Immersion Kit is only available in Beijing
