Whilst children pick up languages very quickly, we feel that the best way to learn is to learn in Beijing. Our Chinese summer camp in Beijing aims to encourage the curiosity of young students for China and Chinese by combining class room learning with culture classes and trips around the city. This way our younger students can not only spend the summer learning a very valuable skill but also have a great time and make lifelong friends.

From Monday to Friday students will study Chinese at the camp in the morning, followed by cultural programs in the afternoon. Our afternoon games cover a wide variety of cultural activities, ranging from Beijing opera mask painting to Shaolin kong fu lessons. Every Saturday we will go for a day trip, visiting the great wall, the water cube water park or the Forbidden City under strict supervision and guidance.

We have a number of different summer camp programs for students to choose from:

Homestay Program (12-17 years old)

Accommodation is with a Chinese homestay family where your child can experience Chinese culture first hand, while practicing their language skills. This provides a great insight into Chinese life. From Monday to Saturday breakfast and dinner are eaten with the host family and lunch at the school. On Sundays all meals are with the family and the student can participate in family trips and social activities, which often include playing badminton or hiking trips in the mountains around Beijing and China’s Great Wall.

Residential Camp (11-17 years old)

Accommodation is in the LTL residence, less than five minutes walk from the school, together with other summer program participants in single or shared rooms. A program coordinator lives with the participants, organizing activities, support and supervision during the program. Students eat all meals together, either at home, the school or at a local restaurant in the area.

Family Packages

Parents can accompany their children to Beijing and either study a Chinese language course on their own, share accommodation with their child or take a break and explore China while their child is at the summer camp. Please contact us for a details on a tailor made program, including tuition, accommodation, and activities for the whole family.

Day Camp (7-17 years old)

The student participates in all classes and social activities, but stays with his or her parents at night and on Sundays. Includes lunch at the school and during weekend trips, transport to the school can be arranged, depending on location.

Summer Camp & Homestay

Living with a Chinese homestay was really fun and good way of learning about Chinese culture. So much more interesting than a hotel! I went with the family to Tiananmen Square, shoe shopping and the food was fantastic. The classes in Beijing were more useful than my course in Belgium because the teachers are more patient and I also had a lot more time to revise. The two weeks in Beijing were a lot of fun, even though it is a big city, it always felt really safe  and I cannot think of anything I did not like.

– Noelie, 13 years old, Belgium

The School Location

The LTL Beijing Central Business District campus

  • Located in the heart of the city
  • 400m walking distance to subway station
  • All you can drink free coffee & tea
  • Gym, basketball court, and swimming pool inside the complex
  • Banks, restaurants and shopping malls within walking distance

Study Chinese in centre of Beijing, the Central Business District. With convenient subway and bus access, plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars right next to our school, the area around LTL is filled with life. Experience the energy of studying in the heart of the capital, today’s centre of business, culture, and power of the world’s largest and fastest growing country. In the Central Business District, life goes 24/7 Beijing style, with Gucci shops next to tiny noodle restaurants, old men playing Chinese chess on the street besides luxury shopping malls. Beijing is big, fast, exciting, rich and at the same time small, slow, historic and poor and there is no better place to experience this amazing city, it’s contradictions and culture than the CBD.

The school is located in one of the first complexes built in the Central Business District and on the 29th floor of the Sunshine 100 complex next to Beijing’s first subway line (Line 1). With a total of ten class rooms, a common area with sofas, free WIFI, a kitchen and a lunch area, the school atmosphere is family style, where everyone eats lunch together and can relax after class with their classmates and teachers. If you want to know where to get the best noodles in the area or just need some help with your homework  we are happy to help – just ask.
