Tina Xiang, Director of Studies
Tina graduated from Hebei University with a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Mandarin as a Foreign Language. She specializes in Spoken Chinese and Business Chinese of all levels. Tina is in charge of all student assessments, as well as supervising program and curriculum design.
“Teaching Mandarin makes me happy because aside from the fulfillment I get helping foreigners, I also learn a lot of things from them. Seeing my students’ become more and more fluent in Mandarin is very rewarding.”

Ellen Wu, Immersion Specialist
Ellen graduated from Beijing International Studies University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Linguistics and Literature. She believes that an immersion program creates a pure language environment for students where they are able to develop their listening and speaking skills more rapidly.
“Interacting with locals helps students build a more functional vocabulary for daily use. Plus, learning about Chinese culture can add to the student’s understanding of Chinese language and enjoyment of the study experience.”
Spotlight on our teachers
A few of our teachers explain why they enjoy sharing the Chinese language.
Kimi Huang
Kimi is a graduate of Harbin Normal University in Northen China and has a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Mandarin as a Foreign Language. Her focus is on Spoken Chinese for Beginners and Pre-Intermediate learners.
“Every country takes pride in promoting their own culture and language to other people. I see teaching Mandarin as my way of helping my country foster understanding with other cultures to make the world a better place.”
Tiffany earned a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Mandarin as a Foreign Language from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). She believes that learning characters, even though it may seem daunting, is crucial for the long-term journey towards fluency.
“I wasn’t sure what I wanted as a career until I discovered teaching Mandarin. Seven years later, I still love teaching as much as the day I started! I always tell my students that it’s important to be patient when learning Chinese. Just take it day by day, and you’ll be amazed at the progress you make!”
